Gubiana dels Ports SL, tourism company in Roquetes, Baix Ebre, has been awarded with the Tourism Medal of Catalonia 2009.

According to the Resolution IUE/3221/2009 published in the DOGC number 5509, date 19.11.2009, Joaquín Domato Búa on behalf of Gubiana dels Ports SL, company of tourism services has been awarded with the Tourism Medal of Catalonia for its contribution to the tourism activities in the Terres del Ebre.
The candidature had been proposed by the Serveis Territorials del Departament d'Innovació, Universitats i Empreses de les Terres del Ebre, and had been supported by eight local institutions. This support has been important because, according the Director of Tourism, Mr. Joan Carles Vilalta i Serrano 'the high level of the 70 candidatures made very competitive the process of selection'.
The Tourism Awards of Catalonia, in its 24th edition, has been delivered on the 3rd December at the Palau de la Generalitat by the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Mr. José Montilla, together with the Conseller d'Innovació, Universitats i Embresa, Mr. Josep Huguet, recognizing in this way the work of 22 professionals, companies and entities that has been contributed to the development of tourism in the country. Mr. Joaquín Domato is the director and manager of Gubiana dels Ports SL. This company of tourism services works for sustainable tourism activities and environment education since it was founded in 2001. Its aim is to promote respectful tourism activities with the natural environment, and it is formed by a group of guides and monitors with the capacity to transmit the natural and cultural patrimonial values of the territory.
